Latest Recommended Posting Dates for Christmas 2012
Are you, like me, prone to missing the date to send cousin John and family their Christmas Card in Australia? Or do you rush to write those last minute Christmas cards and are then unsure if you have to spend the extra to send them via first class post? If so here is your guide to all posting dates so that you won’t forget this year.
These are the recommended latest dates of posting within the UK and to worldwide civilian destinations provided by Royal Mail:
Within the UK
- 2nd Class – Tuesday 18th December 2012
- 1st Class – Thursday 20th December 2012
Worldwide Addresses:
Airmail to:
- South and Central America, Caribbean, Africa, Middle East, Far East (Except Japan), Asia,New Zealand and Australia- Friday 16th November 2012
- United States of America, Canada, Japan and Eastern Europe – Friday 23rd November 2012
- Western Europe – Wednesday 12th December 2012
Surface Mail to:
- All Non-European destinations except Canada, Far East, Middle East, South Africa and the USA- Friday 28th Septmeber 2012
- Far East destinations except Hong Kong, Singapore and Middle East- Tuesday 2nd October 2012
- Canada,Hong Kong, USA, Singapore and South Africa – Tuesday 16th October 2012
- Eastern Europe, Greece, Cyprus,Turkey, Malta and Iceland – Tuesday 6th November 2012
- Western Europe – Tuesday 20th November 2012
Letters to Santa Claus/Father Christmas
The last posting date to write to Santa and receive a reply by Christmas Day is Friday 7th December 2012. Although the Royal Mail cannot guarantee to respond to all letters received.

First off I would like to say fantastic blog! I had a quick question
which I’d like to ask if you do not mind. I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your head prior to writing. I have had a tough time clearing my mind in getting my ideas out. I truly do take pleasure in writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints? Cheers!

Very good point. I try and write down ideas for blog posts when they occur to me so that I have a few to work on. Going for a walk or for me a bike ride is a good way to clear my head and work out the structure of my Blog posts.
It is also worth thinking of topics that will either entertain or educate your target reader.
